A silver bowl similarly decorated with the apostles is in the Sadberk Hanim Museum (Brigitte Pitarakis and Christos Merantzas, A Treasured Memory. Ecclesiastical Silver from Late Ottoman Istanbul in the Sevgi Gönül Collection, exhibition catalogue, Istanbul, 2006, p.63, no.34). That is catalogued as 18th century and the author suggests that it was made in an important silversmithing centre in Anatolia – probably Istanbul or Kayseri. Another bowl, similarly catalogued, sold in these Rooms, 20 October 2016, lot 161.
