AN UNUSUAL LACQURED AND GILDED ZITAN FIGURE OF BUDAI
19TH CENTURY
The jovial and corpulent immortal is shown casually seated holding the ends of the sack on which he leans while holding a red bat on his bent right knee. A pomegranate and a finger citron are in front of him. The incised borders of his red robes are gilded and the sack is of ochre color.
