Album of forty-four albumen prints, the majority approx. 7 x 4½ in. or the reverse, five smaller each probably trimmed from quarter-plate negatives, the majority mounted back-to-back, titled in pencil on mounts, one inscribed in pencil Bronze Medal - highest award, printed label Zaehnsdorf's self-binding mounts inside front cover, full blue cloth, tied with ribbon, 4to.

One harbour scene titled 'Cockenzie Harbour', this and others showing vessels with Leith code on sails or bows. The majority of subjects are individual portraits or portrait groups among the rocks or by the harbour, many showing people involved in everyday activities with titles such as 'Washing Day', 'Weighting the Mussels', 'Preparing for a Haul', 'A lesson in Navigation'. The award-winning photograph is titled 'See! She's tacking', and another is titled 'Water rats'.
