Born in 1978, Arin Dwihartanto Sunaryo comes from a family of artists and designers. During his studies at the Central Saint Martin College of Art and Design in London, Arin moved away from the shadow of his father, Sunaryo Soetono, a celebrated painter, and pushed boundaries with his innovative techniques. Embodying the alchemic process and using different materials in his resin works, Arin explores the infinite use of resin and the possibilities of preserving the dynamic energy of movement.

Burst #2 showcases a sense of depth established by the interesting layering of different colours of pigmented resin, and seamlessly combining the monochromatic and earthy tones. Small traces of splatter serve to balance the empty space in the lower part of the canvas. Burst #2 blends the traditional and contemporary within the aesthetic of abstract expressionism – conveying the true universal language of art.
