Campbell Dodgson is said to have accepted the attribution, although de Tolnay thought it was closer to Graf. The attribution to Schön is supported by the similarity of the penwork in studies in the British Museum (J. Rowlands, Drawings by German Artists, London, 1994, I, nos. 460-1, II, pl. 288).
