The drawing of A young man seated under a tree seems to be by the same hand as one in the British Museum as was pointed out by K. Oberhuber who suggested it might be by a late 16th Century Netherlandish artist working in Rome (K. Oberhuber, 'Reviews', Master Drawings, II, 1963, p. 52; and P. Pouncey and J.A. Gere, Italian Drawings in the department of Prints and Drawings in the British Museum: Raphael and his Circle, London 1962, no. 234). According to Professor Held's notes, there is a drawing of Cupid on the recto of the sheet, which is presently laid down.
