Audemars Piguet confirm that the movement of the present watch was originally cased in a platinum case and sold to a New York Jeweller on 29 October 1927.

At a later date, the watch was returned to Audemars Piguet and, by special request of the owner, recased in a more modern case, the actual one.

This modification is listed in the archives of Audemars Piguet.
