BARTHOLOMAEUS Anglicus (fl. 1230-50). Opus de rerum proprietatibus. Nuremberg: by Friedrich Peypus for Johann Koberger, 3 May 1519. 2° (307 x 210mm). Title within large historiated border, with the blank *6, historiated and ornamental initials, printed in double columns (lightly browned, stronger at beginning and end, title a little waterstained and with a few marginal tears, final text leaf with part of margin torn away, just touching 2 lines of text, a few small additional holes in margin). 20th-century wrappers (soiled). Provenance: Wolfgang Sedelius (inscription, dated 1537, on title and a few annotations in the text). Wolfgang Seydel (1492-1562) was a well known preacher at the Augustinerkirche in Munich. He was an opponent of the reform movement and helped to prevent the advances of Protestantism in Munich -- The property of a religious institution. Adams B264.
