16o (108 x 73 mm). Title printed in red and black within hand colored woodcut border, numerous woodcut illustrations COLORED IN A CONTEMPORARY HAND. Contemporary German calf over pasteboards, painted in gilt, red, green, blue, white, upper cover with central plaque of Jael and Sisera, driving a nail trough his head, lower cover with central plaque of Abraham and Isaak, both plaques within stylised floral border, colored and gauffered edges, fore-edge with a depiction of Jesus (?) praying to God, others with stylised leafy designs, brass clasps (straps renewed, rubbing to extemeties and spine). Provenance "VG" (gilt initials on spine).
