Limited edition, printed on Japanese vellum in a specially inlaid and jewelled Peacock binding by Sangorski and Sutcliffe. The edition reproduces in chromolithography an original manuscript written and illuminated by F. Sangorski and G. Sutcliffe and illustrated with miniatures by E. Geddes. Some copies are numbered and contain an extra original illumination; the present copy has no limitation leaf.

Folio (311 x 218mm). 12 plates, chromolithographs on Japanese vellum (plates discoloured at edges as usual, small, neat marginal tear in one plate). Jewelled binding by Sangorski and Sutcliffe (monogram on back turn-in) for Charles Sawyer (tooled on front turn-in): burgundy morocco richly gilt, upper cover with central sunken panel of blue morocco with a large displaying peacock in gilt, the body inlaid with blue, red, tan and citron morocco, eye of each tail feather set with an amethyst or moonstone, lower cover with a semé of floral and grass-tuft tools, outer blue morocco border, spine gilt with blue onlays, blue morocco pastedowns, blue paper liners, gilt edges, two filigree brass claps each fitted with a single jewel (missing 2 jewels, lower corners just bumped); later velvet pouch.
