9 volumes, 2° (548 x 355mm). 9 hand-coloured engraved titles, heightened in gold, several with letterpress overslips, 6 letterpress section titles, engraved frontispiece in vol.I and 600 MAPS AND PLATES, ALL FINELY COLOURED BY HAND (8 folding, 567 double-page, 25 single-page or smaller), some woodcut illustrations, all mounted on guards. (Some spotting and browning, a few blank margins repaired.) Contemporary vellum gilt, covers panelled with large central arabesques and cornerpieces, g.e. (some neat repairs, ties lacking).

Vol.I: Arctic, Scandinavia and Russia. Engraved emblematic frontispiece, 74 maps, most double-page, 1 full-page, 5 in the text, 2 double-page town plans and 11 plates, 3 illustrations. (Title creased and repaired, blank margins of frontispiece and 4 maps repaired, 1 map with outer margins close-shaved just touching the plate mark, 6 other maps with slight defects.)
Vol.II: Germany, Switzerland and Eastern Europe. 107 maps, most double-page, 3 folding. (Title creased, 6 maps browned or discoloured.)
Vol.III: The Netherlands. 63 maps, most double-page, 1 folding, 3 in the text, 2 double-page town plans. (Blank margins of 4 maps repaired, 3 maps browned.)
Vol.IV: England and Wales. 58 maps, most double-page.
Vol.V: Scotland and Ireland. 55 maps, most double-page, including map of the Isle of Arran not listed by Koeman. (36 maps browned or discoloured, one map stuck together at fold.)
Vol.VI: France. 66 double-page maps, 1 folding. (Some spotting or discolouration to 2 maps, the folding map torn at the fold.)
