BOCCACCIO, Giovanni. Le Decameron, translated by Antoine Le Mâcon. London [but Paris]: 1757-1761. 5 vols., 8° (220 x 135mm). Engraved portrait frontispiece, 5 engraved titles and 110 engraved plates by Le Mire, and others after Gravelot, Boucher, Cochin and Eisen, engraved head- and tailpieces throughout after Gravelot (short tear in the portrait margin, occasional very light spotting, soiling or browning.) Contemporary sprinkled calf with flat spines, perhaps by Bradel-Derôme, edges gilt (two vols with small surface losses to the spines and chipped labels, a few joint starting). Provenance: 'M.E.' (contemporary manuscript cypher in ink on the last leaf of text).
