The brass movement with one going barrel, Earnshaw type spring detent escapement mounted on a lenticular platform, two-arm bimetallic balance with brass timing and weighting screws, parachute suspension, free sprung regulator with polished helical hairspring, diamond endstone, the silvered dial with small hour dial with Roman numerals, gilt spade hands, large subsidiary seconds, in water-resistant-type brass bowl with screw bezel, gimballed in three-tier mahogany box with hinged panel in the lid over a circular glazed aperture, numbered 5055, original brass key dial signed and numbered, movement numbered

According to the Archives of Montres Breguet, the present "Horloge Marine à un barillet" or marine chronometer with one barrel was sold by Monsieur Huette, Breguet's agent in the seaport of Nantes, on 24 May 1837 for the amount of Francs 1,100.
