Staff-Surgeon George Murray Levick, RN (1876-1956), was surgeon and zoologist on the expedition, working under Campbell in the Northern Party (what was originally intended to be the Eastern Party), which operated mostly independently of the main expedition at Cape Evans. Levick worked with the Party at Cape Adare on replicating Borchgrevink's meteorological survey and made an exhaustive study of the Adelie penguins (their site at Cape Adare was in the midst of a large nesting ground).
