A fine copy, rarely found uncut. The title is slightly misleading since the work is entirely devoted to edible fruit and nuts. The work, issued periodically, was completed in July 1823: a notice of Brookshaw's death in Greenwich during the previous winter is given by the anonymous final editor in the preface. He goes on to say "It is hoped... that the present work... will... form a suitable monument to [Brookshaw's] genius and talent." The folding plates are numbered 27, 39/40, 43/44, 47/48, 51/52, 55 and 59/60. The complete sequence of numbering is 1-38, 39/40, 41-42, 43/44, 45-46, 47/48, 49-50, 51/52, 53-55, 57-58, 59/60, 61-104, each plate with associated text. No plate 56 (or its associated text) was issued. Nissen BBI 245 (incorrect plate count); Dunthorne 56 (incorrect plate count).
