The rectangular body is raised on four small feet. The sides are surmounted with a taotie mask suspending a ring, the base has an apocryphal Song dynasty mark reading: shaoxingernian daningchangchensuhanchenjiandu jiangshizhu zhidetanyong ('second year of Shaoxing period, supervised by Su Hanchen and cast by Jiangshi at Daningchang for ceremonial use').The cover is cast in openwork with swastika on a ground of key-fret; small restorations.
