Tasting note: last tasted January 1998: very deep purple, with youthfully vibrant cassis, resin and minty aromas. This is a solidly-built, four-square, spectacular wine with a powerful, vanilla-oak element which will require, I surmised, until 2003 to integrate, and for its abundant tannins to soften. A.H.
