PONTET-CANET
After becoming famous in the Versailles court, Jean-François de Pontet purchased a few acres of land in Pauillac and added his own name to the land. A century later, it became a classified growth under the 1855 classification. The estate was operated by the Cruse family for 110 years before it was finally sold to the current owner in 1975, Guy Tesseron, a cognac merchant, also the owner of Château Lafon-Rochet.

The first attempt of biodynamic agriculture occurred in 2004 and the wines are evidently more radiant, tighter and brighter. Pontet-Canet obtained both organic and biodynamic certifications in 2010 and 2014.
