Derives from the prototype by van Hemessen of c.1552 in the State Collection of Art at Wawael Castle, Cracow. There are three other copies or variants that are known, one in the Furstlich Furstenbergishe Sammlungen, Donaueschingen, and two where the present location is unknown.
