A one-page typed letter, signed, from Clementine Churchill at Chartwell, Westerham, Kent, 14th February 1933, giving a secretarial reference for Miss Edwards: "She is very methodical and neat and is entirely trustworthy in every respect." The post-script added in Churchill's hand reads: "I consider Miss Edwards to be a capable accountant, and I should be very glad to recommend her to anybody requiring her services."
With a second letter from Clementine Churchill, dated Chartwell, September 19th, also to Miss Edwards declaring: "I miss you horribly ... I felt sustained and soothed while you were with me." (2)
