Comte Georges de Vogüé, Musigny Vieilles Vignes 1999
Grand Cru, Côte de Nuits
Tasting note: October 2017 at the Domaine from half bottle. A slight ginger tone, all nicely ripened. Typical 99. Fine aromas of forest floor, red cherries. Quite reserved, sweet spiced with fine cinnamon tones.
Strong start of mouth filling deep red fruits, all packed in. Some grapefruit on the final. A youngster in a more reserved character. Very good balance. Needs more time. The energy and minerality in this wine are impressive. All harmony. In an intermediate stage between primary and secondary fruit aromas. A great classic Musigny. E.V.
