Hand-coloured engraved map of Asia on 2 sheets, joined, overall 590 x 960mm, the map showing the whole of Asia, parts of Africa, Europe, Northern Australia and the Indian and Pacific oceans, the oceans decorated with ships and sea battles, title set in decorative plinth cartouche supported by two tartars, lower right corner with a small double-hemisphere world map within an elaborate border scene of traders and a hunting scene, two compass roses. (Minor discolouration at outer margins and along old folds.)
A fine and rare separately published map of Asia, a reissue of Justus Danckerts map, his privilege engraved at lower right corner, the 'J' reengraved with a 'C', and the addition of the new address of Cornelis in the title cartouche.
