Domaine Ponsot, Clos de la Roche Cuvée Vieilles Vignes 1993
Grand Cru, Côte de Nuits
Both Jeroboams were tasted in September 2022 by William Ponsot to ensure pristine quality, topped up and closed with a new cork and wax seal.
An unusually small harvest of only 18 hl/ha, against the permitted 35 hl/ha.
Tasting note: An immediately very attractive nose of full rich fruits. On the palate the texture is clear of suave rich fruits, all pure and ripe. Well aged this has so much energy and length, interwoven fine acidity in the tannin structure. A wine of length and charm. There is still a lot of potential for aging, superb balance. A beautiful wine! The acidity keeps the wine fresh and is just very impressive in its quality. Tasted during the jubilee tasting at the Domaine in June 2022. Edwin Vos
