Don Inkersole was born in Colchester, Essex and studied at Maidstone College of Art, where teachers included David Hockney, Norman Stevens, David Oxtoby and Stuart Brisley.
The artist, who makes his own frames, views his work as being in the "Constable tradition, although strongly informed by modern and contemporary painters from Hopper to Auerbach and Impressionism".
Inkersole participated in a number of Shows in London, the home counties and East Anglia throughout the 1970's and 1980's, and had a solo exhibition at the Upper Street Gallery, Waterman's of St. James's, and Lawrence Churchill Fine Art.
