Eddie Polo was regarded as one of the best stuntmen of his era, and became known as the "Hercules of the Screen." His career started in the cirucs as an acrobat before joining Universal Studios in 1914. By the early 1920s he was growing too old for life as a stuntman, and moved to Germany. The introduction of sound in 1915 effectively ended his career.
