An autograph letter, signed, to Mon petit bonhomme [probably her husband Jacques Pills], 28th August, 1955, the letter written in blue ballpoint pen in French on either side of a piece of Mocambo, 8588 Sunset Boulevard, Hollywood 46, California headed stationery whilst on tour, Piaf reveals the extent of her popularity in America, when she explains how she's obliged to cut short her vacation to perform for the biggest farmer in the US at a party in Dallas full of fashion and TV people for a vast sum of money : ...les cow boys m'aimient bien il y aura la couture Française et toutes les televisions plus 4,000 dollars.. [Cowboys really like me.
