EIGHT SÈVRES LILAC-GROUND CIRCULAR PLATES, the centres painted with tight clusters of summer flowers and leaves within a band of gilt fret-pattern outlining the wells, reserved at intervals with cartouches of interlaced strapwork suspending a slender concentric gilt chain dotted with beads, within lilac borders and bands of gilt foliage and gilt lines at the rims (very minor wear to gilding), six with artist's monogram E.R., gilder's marks W, blue printed marks, incised D 43 2, D 43 3, and D 43 4, various painted marks, date codes for 1843 9in. These plates are possibly from one of two services: either a service 'fond lilas, groupe de fleurs, etc.', completed in 1843 and sold to 'M. Barbier' in February 1846, or a service 'fond lilas bouquet de fleurs', ordered on 18 April 1844 by 'Mme. Curcier de Jastet, Rue Neuve des Mathurins' and sold to her in December 1844.
