oval, 2 in. (51 mm.) high, gilt-metal fausse-montre locket frame with foliate outer cover engraved 'CHARLOTTE' with crown surmount, the interior engraved 'Lontan dagli occhj miei ma Sempre viano al mio cuore MMC 1812' ('You may be far from sight but always near my heart)
