A fringed jacket of sand-coloured suede, with tassel decoration to the shoulders, arms, hem, chest and pockets, with press-stud fastening, labelled inside Jo-o-Kay Fashions In Leather by CORRAL SPORTSWEAR CO. ARDMORE, OKLA.; accompanied by a corresponding black and white photograph of Clapton wearing this jacket on the day he bought it at the Westerner Fashion Shop, Oxford Street, London, 1966, with Ginger Baker and Jack Bruce [printed later] -- 10x8in. Lot Essay

Eric Clapton gave this jacket to his road manager at the end of the 1967 U.S. tour - apparently it was a favourite of his, but the Dupont lighter he used at the time kept catching on the jacket pockets causing them to rip [now repaired].

Clapton can be seen wearing this jacket in photographs for publicity material for the release of the album Fresh Cream, 1966. According to Jack Bruce ...the business decisions were left to Ginger, while the artistic decisions were more Eric's. Eric would decide on album covers and the choice of clothes...
