Lot Essay

This work is one of a series of interesting watercolours and oils that Heckel executed during a trip to Allgaü in the Bavarian Alps. The striking painting 'Kleine Allgaüer Landschaft' shows the same landscape as this watercolour from a slightly different viewpoint.
