Lot Essay
As with the preceding two lots, the present pair of figures once formed part of the collection of Narcís Ricart i Coll (1884-1959).
The present figures are therefore comparable to the pair of figures of lot 122, however the greater naturalism of the faces suggests a slightly later date. They may be also compared to a similar pair in the Museu Frederic Marès in Barcelona, catalogued as 'Castile, mid-14th century' (Espaňol i Bertran and J Yuarza Luaces, op. cit., no. 167, p. 223).
