Though containing only half the entries of Thimm's bibliography, it is more detailed, especially on the large Italian literature, and has remained indispensable. Gelli himself owned a very fine collection on fencing which he sold in 1912, well catalogued by Rossi. From the library of J.J. Davis, owner of the London firm of Davis & Orioli
