Large and small woodcut historiated and decorated initials. 19th-century limp vellum, covers gilt-stamped with monogram of W.H. Miller, spine titled in gilt, edges gilt, by Riviere. Provenance: William Herbert -- R. Foster -- Richard Heber (sold at Wheatley's 26 January 1835, V, lot 1932, to Thorpe) -- William Henry Miller (monogram on binding), sold Britwell Court Sale, Sotheby's London, 1 April 1925, lot 342, to Dobell -- purchased from Scribner Rare Books, New York, 18 August 1972.

THIRD EDITION. The work was a form of supplement to E. Hellows' English translation of the Familar Epistles of Sir Antony of Gueuara, already published in 1574 [STC 12432], and in 1594 the two were assigned as one book. STC 10796. A FINE COPY WITH A DISTINGUISHED PROVENANCE.
