From the Haft Paykar of Nizami, gouache heightened with gold on paper, Bahram mounted on horseback holds his bow after shooting an deer in the lower right hand side of the composition whilst further mounted figures look on, a silver stream runs through the otherwise blue flowering landscape with a large leafy tree which extends into the upper margin, further spectators in the upper right hand corner, with lines of black nasta'liq arranged in four columns at the top and bottom of the miniature, between gold and polychrome rules, some staining, mounted, framed and glazed
Miniature at largest 8 7/8 x 7 1/8in. (22.5 x 18.2cm.); folio 13 1/8 x 8½in. (33.4 x 21.5cm.)
