FOUR WHIELDON TYPE CREAMWARE PLATES AND A CHARGER
Circa 1760-1780
Two plates octagonal, the borders molded with paired fronds at each angle, the panels alternately molded with star or domino diaper patterns, splashed in a dark grey glaze and enriched in blue, yellow, green and manganese in the shape of a splashed cross; one similarly colored and molded but of silver shape, the basin splashed with six blue areas futher enriched in ochre, bright green and manganese; the forth octagonal with a milled rim, spashed overall in a tortoiseshell pattern in manganese and brown; the deep circular platter splashed in ochre and green oxides on a sponged grey ground
