Rowe, 8 wood-engravings (frontispiece slightly soiled at upper margin), original limp cloth, front cover with gilt title in blind frame, gilt edges (spine rubbed at head, inner hinges repaired with adhesive tape). Provenance: J.W.J. Liffe (signature on front free endpaper).
Second edition, with minor changes to the frontispiece of "The Field", and an additional wood-engraving showing the hand positions for the "forward lounge", as recommended in Felix on the Bat (1845). Padwick 380.
