Mason, [1844]. 8vo., 22p. + advertisement leaf, 8 etched portraits with aquatint, 4 folding, printed slip between pp. 10-11 giving alterations to "the Law relating to wide balls" (some spotting to plates and marginal soiling), original green cloth, upper cover gilt lettered (extremities rubbed). Provenance: Charles Pratt Green, Malvern (inscription on front pastedown, dated 21/3/[18]90) -- Bob Appleyard (ownership inscription on front free endpaper, dated 1988).

ISSUE WITH 8 PORTRAITS, published at 3s. 6d. The portraits of the "Four Gentlemen" (Kynaston, Langdon, Taylor and Mynn) are signed by C. Hunt after C.J. Basébe, and are all folding. Taylor, as long ago as 1906, considered this "a very rare publication". Allen 45; Taylor p. 66; Padwick 386.
