FIRST EDITION, PRESENTATION COPY, INSCRIBED BY THE AUTHOR on the front free endpaper: "Albert S. Osborn with greetings from R. Austin Freeman 4th December 1932." Osborn was a handwriting expert, serving as a witness during the Lindbergh kidnapping trial. Freeman makes reference to Osborn in several of his books. Donaldson 31.
