This watercolour records a reception room in the summer. The pastel hung above the overmantle, of a man with the sash of the Order of Saint Esprit, is in the manner of Louis Vigée: the pastel on the left wall is after a French prototype of about 1810: the other framed works are evidently drawings or prints
