Album of approximately 140 albumen prints. 1880-81. Varying sizes from 2½ x 3 in. (6.3 x 7.6 cm.) to 7 7/8 x 10 1/8 in. (20 x 25.7 cm.) or the reverse. 12 with G. Sommer or Bonfils credit and most with title or number in the negatives, each titled in ink on the mounts, gilt title and date, cream vellum. With 23 loose prints, each approximately 7½ x 9 7/8 in. (19 x 25.1 cm.) or the reverse, several with P. Sébah, Sébah & Joaillier, Abdullah Frères credit or titled in the negatives.

Architectural views and numerous sites in Rome including the Colosseum and the Baths of Caracalla; several views in Naples and Sorrento, the eruption of Vesuvius and the ruins at Pompeii; views and portraits in Palestine, Syria and Turkey including the valley of Hinnom and Mount Sion. The loose prints are all of Istanbul and include some street scenes filled with people, panoramic views and food-sellers.
