Title-page, A2r with large woodcut (115 x 137 mm) depicting Gafurius at a lectern with 12 seated students (first use of this woodcut) A4v and B1r with different decorative woodcut borders (one with small figures of Orpheus and other musicians), I5v with da Ponte's woodcut device, I6v with a full-page woodcut (202 x 102mm) of Gafurius seated at a large organ with explanatory text and captioned at top "Introductum musices f. gafori" (first used in Gafurius's Theorica musicae opus musice discipline, Naples: Francesco di Dino, 1480); the woodcut colored by an early hand in red, yellow, green, and blue. Additional large woodcut diagrams, several full-page, and many woodcut musical examples notated on five-line staves. Dark green morocco, gilt-paneled, g.e., by Thompson. A fine, tall copy.
