Details
GIACOMO CONTERNO
The Giacomo Conterno estate is located just outside Monforte d'Alba, in Italy’s North-West Piemonte region. Giacomo Conterno produces arguably one of the world’s best expressions of the Nebbiolo grape, their Barolo Monfortino Riserva which is only produced in exceptional vintages. This wine is aged for at least 7 years in traditional large oak ‘botti’ (barrels) before bottling. The Monfortino is Giacomo Conterno’s signature wine and requires considerable bottle ageing to evolve, soften the tannins, and to develop the liquorice, rose and tar aromas that characterise this outstanding wine.
