2° (397 x 246mm). Half-title, title in red and black with engraved vignette, text in Latin and German. Engraved double-page view of the interior of the 'museum', portrait of Richter by M. Bernigeroth after A. de Manjocxy, 14 plates of mineral and fossil specimens with contemporary hand-colouring, 3 plates of cameos and gems, 14 engraved head- and tail-pieces. (Some browning to plates, occasional oxidization of pigments particularly affecting plate XIII.) Contemporary red morocco spine and edges preserved on a modern morocco binding, spine gilt in seven compartments with raised bands, red morocco lettering-piece in the second, the others with repeat decoration in gilt (joints split, extremities rubbed). Provenance: Maria Antonia, Princess of Bavaria, Electress of Saxony (1724-1780; crowned cipher stamp on title) – Saxon State and University Library (stamps and deaccession stamps on title verso).
