Pre-tour penny booklet, with "complete biographies and portraits of Merssrs. J.M. Blackham, A.C. Bannerman, G. Giffen, and C.T.B. Turner"; William Gunn is featured on the back cover, advertising an "Electropathic belt". In the first match at Lord's, H. Graham made a century on his first appearance for Australia, and in the third at Manchester Tom Richardson, the Surrey fast bowler, took 5 for 49 and 5 for 107 on his first appearance for England. Helped by scores of 68 from W.G. Grace, 83 from A.E. Stoddart, 66 from A. Shrewsbury, and 103 from F.S. Jackson, England won the second Test by an innings and 43 runs, Briggs taking 5 for 34 in Australia's first innings and 5 for 114 in the second. The other two matches were drawn. Padwick 4980.
