Lot Essay

During the Terra Nova expedition, Petty Officer Crean was a member of the Last Returning Party on the polar journey. He was awarded the Albert Medal for saving the life of Lieutenant Evans. Crean subsequently joined Shackleton aboard Endurance on his journey to the Pole in 1914.
