An undated one-page autograph letter of 15 lines in French, signed, from Balzac to Madame la Duchesse D'Atranter concerning the torment of his neuralgia and asking whether he may return to the Abbey, neatly folded with most of small red seal (piece torn away at fold, not affecting text); together with a 16 line autograph poem, signed, by Moore, dated April 20th 1843 and beginning: "The harp that once through Tara's Halls The soul of music shed" (browned).
