With gilt-finished verge movement, chain fusée, finely chased, engraved and pierced balance cock and foot, pierced Egyptian pillars, the chased silver dial with engraved and blackened arched Roman VI-VI hour sector, outer plain cartouches with engraved and blackened Arabic five minute divisions, single brass hand, arched aperture to the centre with rotating silver disc with sun, moon and stars on a blue background, the lower half of the dial with aperture for date surrounded by an engraved and blackened scroll and foliage decoration, plain inner and outer cases, both cases stamped with casemaker's initials HI, dial signed
