This copy of the Mathnavi of Rumi is signed Abu'l Qasim 'Ali ibn Ahmed ibn 'Abd al-Wahhab al-misri aslan wa muhtamidan (?) ash-shirazi daran wa maulidan (of Egyptian origin but commended (?) as al-Shiraz, the place of residence and birth). He is unrecorded.
The manuscript is amongst the very early copies known of the Mathnavi. In his translation of this work, R.A. Nicholson based his work on five old manuscripts of which only three were complete, two from the 14th century and one dated AH 843/1439-40 AD.
