Persian manuscript on paper, 342ff., plus two fly-leaves, each folio with 21ll. of small black nasta'liq script arranged in four columns with double divisions, titles in red within cartouches, text within gold, blue and black rules, with 33 original illustrations (as numbered), catchwords, three of the chapters with illuminated headpiece, openings to Makhzan al-asrar and Layla wa Majnun with illuminated headpieces and margins in gold and polychrome, in original lacquer binding with floral decoration, later ownership note with date of AH 1234
