The present picture was probably one in a series of seven canvases illustrating personifications of the liberal arts. Another canvas of the same format illustrating Geometria is in the Bonn Museum (W. Cohen, Die Sammlung Wesendonck, Zeitschrift für bild. Kunst, XXI, p. 57).
